Goal: Anderson Economic Group (AEG) aimed to quantify the local and statewide economic impact of the Detroit Lions’ 2024 playoff run by producing an economic analysis to garner national media coverage.
Research:
Earlier in 2024, AEG worked with Bellwether to publish an analysis about the economic impact of the NFL Draft in Detroit and saw a positive response in the media and in the community. The firm wanted to continue their strategy and showcase the impact that the resurgence of the Lions has both directly in the Metro Detroit area, and where dollars are spent after.
Action Plan & Communication Overview:
AEG published economic impact analysis ahead of the NFL playoff game between the Detroit Lions and Washington Commanders on January 18, 2025, finding that the game would generate more than $64 million.
Evaluation:
