Bellwether Public Relations welcomes new student practitioners for summer

We’re strengthening our award-winning team this summer with three new student practitioners!

Daisy, JesseMae, and Siri have hit the ground running, supporting our clients and working hard to leave the world a little better than they found it. Learn more about our new team members below.

Daisy Ruiz

Daisy Ruiz is a senior at the University of Michigan majoring in Communication and Media.

Before joining the Bellwether PR team, Daisy served as the Advocacy Director and later Lead Director of La Casa, the University of Michigan’s central Latine student organization. In these roles, she organized campus-wide initiatives, coordinated with university leadership on issues affecting Latine students, and led advocacy efforts to uplift and support the Latine community on campus.

On campus, Daisy has held multiple leadership positions and will serve as the Latine Heritage Month Student Coordinator this fall. She brings a passion for storytelling, cultural advocacy, and community-building to her work.

In her free time, Daisy enjoys thrifting, playing music, traveling and exploring new cafes.

Hometown: Aurora, Illinois

Favorite part of working at Bellwether PR so far: The supportive environment and the opportunity to work on real client projects right away. It’s exciting to be part of a team that values creativity and collaboration.

What she loves most about Michigan: The changing seasons and how Ann Arbor brings together people from all walks of life.

What she’s currently listening to: Dominic Fike, SZA, Charli XCX, Lorde, Orion Sun, and more.

JesseMae Rayer

JesseMae Rayer is a senior at Michigan State University majoring in Public Relations with a minor in creative writing.

Before joining Bellwether, JesseMae interned with Fusion Medical Staffing in Nebraska and WKAR in East Lansing, doing in-house healthcare work and underwriting for the public radio station.

She also worked with CaringConnections out of Austin, assisting with communications for the senior care start-up, and H-Net on MSU’s campus, working with academic publishers and volunteers.

In her free time, you can find her at the local archery range or writing or baking.

Hometown: South Lyon, Michigan

Favorite part of working at Bellwether PR so far: The ability to assist clients that are doing deeply important and difficult work, and to do that with a team of people who are both great people and great PR professionals.

What they love most about Michigan: Dirt roads and the old growth at Hartwick Pines State Park.

What they are currently listening to: Dancing in the Sky by Sam Barber, Du Hast by Rammstein, and Eat Your Young by Hozier.

Siri Reed

Siri Reed is a senior at Michigan State University majoring in Public Relations with a concentration in social science.

Prior to joining the Bellwether team, Siri spent time in London, studying global public relations and communications. During this time, she worked alongside peers to develop and present a pitch to a major public relations firm.

In her free time, Siri can be found participating in choir, playing with her dogs and traveling whenever possible.

Hometown: Williamston, Michigan.

Favorite part of working at Bellwether PR so far: The chance to work on a variety of projects, particularly with political advocacy clients. I have always been passionate about social justice work, so I am thrilled to have the opportunity to be a voice in such important conversations.

What she loves most about Michigan: The big, beautiful lakes.

What she’s currently listening to: Remi Wolf, Charli xcx, Lorde, and The Japanese House.
